The Institute for Infrastructure Engineering (IIE) at the University of Western Sydney expands engineering research beyond civil and electronic engineering into the areas of structural systems, computational mechanics, construction materials, and structural health monitoring. The Institute is committed to excellence and boasts world class research facilities and researchers. The Institute has one of the best testing and research facilities in Australia with NATA accreditation and is at the cutting edge of Infrastructure Engineering.
Applications are invited for the position of Associate Professor in Infrastructure Computations from suitably qualified researchers. Applicants are expected to have achieved a national research profile with a proven track record in conducting research at an international level, including successes in securing external research funding, publishing in high quality journals, presenting papers at international conferences, supervising higher degree research candidates to completion and building external partnerships.
The position holder is expected to take on leadership roles. The position holder will initiate and prepare applications for funding in collaboration with researchers within IIE and with other research organisations, as well as secure funding from government and/or industry sources.
Eligibility: This position requires a PhD in the area of Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
This is full time, ongoing position will be based at our Penrith (Kingswood) campus.
Remuneration Package : Academic Level D $147,976 to $162,527 p.a. (comprising Salary $125,382 to $137,819 p.a., plus 17% Superannuation, and Leave Loading)

Applicants are expected to have achieved a national research profile and a demonstrated ability to conduct research at an international level, includes attracting external research funding, publishing in high quality journals, presenting papers at high level conferences and building external partnerships.
The position holder will be expected to further enhance the Institute’s capabilities in the areas of Civil, Electrical, Materials and/or Mechanical Engineering (Field of Research Code (FoR) code: 0905, 0906, 0912 and/or 0913). The position holder will initiate and prepare applications for funding in collaboration with researchers within IIE and with other research organisations, government and/or industry partners. Eligibility: This position requires a PhD in the area of Civil, Electrical, Materials or Mechanical Engineering.
